Hello? July? Is that you? Does anyone know how we got here???

Cooking Up A Storm

I’ve made some goal changes recently, and one of them was to cook more, healthy meals. On Sunday, we had a crockpot ham, and to use some of the leftovers up, I made a quiche! Ham and cheese with sautéed garlic, mushrooms and spinach. Don’t worry, I’ll have that recipe to you all soon!

Raspberry Picking & Jam Making

Speaking of cooking more, last Friday Jackson and I visited one of our favorite places: Cider Hill Farm in the town I grew up in: Amesbury, MA. They have an extensive PYO (pick your own) selection and we couldn’t pass up picking two quarts of raspberries! One to eat, one to turn into jam. Jackson was eager to help with both tasks!

Get Dirty

I started thinking of what to do with this flower bed space. We’ve always had this metal bench on our front porch, but after redecorating that, it lost its home., So putting a flower basket on it & putting it here made sense. But the space still felt empty. After a Lowe’s run, two hydrangeas (one of my favorites) and two Silver King Euonymus trees fit right in!

Last Weeks Tech Purge

‘Do Not Disturb’ mode is my new favorite thing. Know what else is? Turning off receiving certain notifications. I stuck to 2-3 hours a day of being phone less, even at night. By Thursday, I felt lighter. I felt my mental health had taken a slight shift for the better, too. Consuming too much content can be overstimulating, and it doesn’t take much to make me feel that way. I will be sticking to this routine!

What I’m Looking Forward To This Month

Welcome, July! This month is going to be filled with family from out of town visiting, and I cannot wait. I’m also making a point this month to bring back some ‘nostalgic summer’ traditions: chasing fireflies. making s’mores, stargazing and extra ice cream runs. Bring on the last few months of summer!
