A Summer Soirée

A few weeks ago, I decided to plan and host a ladies night. Inspired by Camille Styles, I pulled out as many stops as I could! I called it a “Summer Soirée: Ladies Night Garden Party.” Here are the details.

The Invitations

A bright, summery and appealing invitation was what I was looking for. Thanks again to Etsy for the customizable options, I found this bright pink and gold one and the rest of the theme stemmed from that.

Once I saw this invite, I KNEW this was the one and what the theme of night would be!

The Food and Drinks

Simple, light small bites were planned for the menu. Chicken salad sandwiches, pasta salad with peppers and cucumbers, a charcuterie board with a couple different cheeses and an array of crackers and caprese salad rounded out the ‘mains.’ For dessert: mini-eclairs and cream puffs! No desserts were left behind…

It was also a Mocktails night! Sparkling Blush, Sparkling Cider and a pink lemomade-Sprite combo I called “The Pink Lady” rounded out our meals!

I love hosting just for the arranging and detailing!

A moment for the gold tablecloth, please.

The Tablescape

A simple tablescape for dinning and chatting was also something we were in need of. And since it was a beautiful summer night, outside we sat! We chatted about many topics, from work to our kids, even about seasoning our cast-iron pans! (I was asked to include this, so for me I season monthly since I use my cast iron at least once a week.)

A simple white tablecloth with sheer gold place settings and simple votive candles made the table a special spot for dining.

The Flowers and Favors

What’s a garden party without flowers? As a lover of a fresh bouquet, a “Bloom Bar” was one of the most important parts of the night. Picked from a local florist, sunflowers, Dahlias, Gerber Daisy’s, regular Daisy’s, Carnations and Baby’s Breath filler-all in bright summery colors of course-were the perfect picks for all of our bouquets. One of the ladies even brought some of her garden’s Hydrangeas for an extra special touch!

Name tags by the vases ensured everyone had what they needed to make their perfect bouquets! Bubbles with flower sticks for favors made for an extra fun touch.

What’s a garden party without a ‘bloom bar?’

I like to think I would make Camille proud of how this event went! It was a beautiful night and so much fun to plane and prep for. Will this be an annual event? Stay tuned!
