Jackson’s 2nd Birthday!

Our Jackson is TWO WILD! Recently, we celebrated his 2nd birthday with a jungle/safari theme - perfectly suiting our wild little man. (His old room was even jungle theme!) Our jungle loving dude had the greatest time!

The Details

The Invites

Thank you, Etsy for the instant-downloadable & fully customizable invitations. I try to be crafty, but my abilities only get me so far. Once customized on my laptop, they were printed at home on card-stock & mailed!

When did I start planning? If you guessed February, you guessed correct!

The Decor

We love a good Amazon haul for birthday supplies. A full kit that comes with balloons, banners, tablecloths, cups, cupcake wrappers, a cake topper and centerpieces was quickly added to cart. Matching cutlery, plates, napkins and cups were also added, because we obviously need to remain on theme! (Linked in the shop section via LTK!)

Also needed was a “Jackson’s Jungle” yard sign, printed by Staples - not only as a welcome to our guests, but because it really was Jackson’s Jungle here that day.

The banner & some of the animals balloons included in the party kit were the perfect photo backdrop!

Thank you, Staples for a great looking yard sign!

The tablecloth & centerpieces from the party kit made decorating & setting up so simple!

Favors and desserts were displayed here (more on that later!)

The party kit containing more than 1 tablecloth was clearly a lifesaver!

The outfits

Also from Amazon were matching family shirts. Ryan was less enthusiastic than I was about it, but he came around to it. Again, we have to remain on theme!

Wild Daddy, Wild Mama and Jackson’s (perfectly stated) “Born TWO Be WILD”!

The Food & Desserts

Did I mention a theme? An alligator fruit platter was a MUST, as was a lion-faced vegetable arrangement. Also included were “tiger tails” (Cheetos) & sticks (pretzel sticks).

Don’t worry, our fruit gator didn't bite! He welcomed little hands & forks onto his platter of blueberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, grapes, pineapple & watermelon!

The tastiest lion roared for joy when you dipped your piece of celery, yellow pepper, orange pepper or carrot into his hummus face!

Oh, and of course there were desserts. Buttercream-frosted sugar cookies from a local bakery decorated as elephants, tigers & a zebra patterned #2 were a hit! Along with orange & green cake pops to match Jackson’s orange & green jungle cake.

Sweetened Memories bakery in Durham, NH did a great job with the cookies and were so great to work with!

Jackson’s cake was homemade by yours truly and he clearly was loving it! Green leaf cake decorations also from Amazon; “TWO” banner included in the party kit!

Final Thoughts

Forever grateful!

When I see pictures like this, all of the planning, coordinating, cooking/baking, prepping, etc. is WORTH IT.

I slept well after this party, that’s for sure. But, I love party planning and hosting, so you can guarantee I’m going to do it again! When’s my next event?! Stay tuned!
